S3 Demand Index, Q2 2026
The S3 Demand Index is published every quarter. It shows which providers visitors of s3compare.io open after comparing prices, based on outbound clicks recorded on the site. This edition covers 1 April to 30 June 2026. s3compare.io is built in public: the dataset is on GitHub, and from this quarter on the click data is public too.
Summary
- MEGA S4 received 24% of all outbound clicks and leads in every region.
- Nine providers follow with 4% to 9% each, together 63%. The remaining ten share 13%.
- Among those nine, the storage price does not set the order. Hetzner at $12.30 per TB gets as many clicks as Rabata at $4.90.
- AWS is second in Europe outside DACH (11%), fourth in North America (9%) and fifth in Asia (7%). In DACH it has 3%.
- Second place differs by region: Hetzner in DACH, AWS in the rest of Europe, Rabata and Storj tied in Asia and in North America.

Price and Clicks
The cheapest listing gets the most clicks in every region. Below that, price does not explain the order: Storj at $7.00 and Hetzner at $12.30 get as many clicks as Rabata at $4.90 and AWS at $4.00.
Eight of the ten most clicked providers charge $10 per TB or less for egress, three charge nothing. AWS at $90 and IONOS at $36 are the exceptions. Our reading: visitors weigh the whole row, and they open names they already know.
Method
Outbound clicks from s3compare.io to provider pricing pages, 1 April to 30 June 2026, from our self-hosted analytics. Shares only. A click counts interest after a comparison, not a purchase. Delisted providers and non-provider links are excluded. Ties are ordered by clicks, then alphabetically. s3compare.io is operated by Zero Services GmbH; ZERO-Z3 is listed and treated like every other row. Next edition: Q3 2026, early October.
